Invitation to Asian-Pacific Condensed Matter Physics Seminar Series (AP-CMP)
We are pleased to announce the launch of a new online seminar series: the Asian-Pacific Condensed Matter Physics (AP-CMP) Seminars. It aims to foster connections among condensed matter physicists in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. All talks will be held in English and are open to the broader scientific community. Please subscribe to the mailing list on the website to receive Zoom links and future announcements. We warmly invite everyone to join! We are also open to welcoming your participation to organizers, especially from countries within the AAPPS-DCMP community. If you're interested, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Join 16th Asia Pacific Physics Conference (APPC16)
As a triennial conference series organized by AAPPS, APPC brings together physicists from across the region to share and discuss cutting-edge research and education in all areas of physics. Hosted by CPS in 2025, APPC16 will provide a unique opportunity for scholars to foster collaborations, strengthen friendships, and exchange ideas with colleagues from the Asia-Pacific community.
Condensed matter physics in New Zealand
The condensed matter physics community in New Zealand is small and widely separated, but our separation - across several universities and CRIs (Crown Research Institutes ‒ think CSIRO but split into 7 institutions, soon to merge into 3) - has not prevented us from building thoseclose links that lead to rewarding and excellent scientific careers. The smaller size of ourphysics departments and research centres means too that the resources and facilities neededare not often all available in any one place, and it’s one of those distinctive features of NZphysicists that we have become very good at sharing and supporting one another.
